Kyoto Kimono Rental Kyokomachi is a kimono rental shop conveniently located just a 10-second walk from the
Kiyomizumichi bus stop, and about an 8-minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
With a selection of over 200 kimonos, professional dressing, and optional hairstyling, even first-time visitors
can enjoy a comfortable and authentic kimono experience in Kyoto.

QIs there anything I must bring with me on the day?
You do not need to bring anything with you. We have the Nagajuban (long undergarment), tabi socks, zori (sandals), bags and other accessories ready for you. And of course it’s all included in the price, you don’t have to pay any extra.

QCan the plan be changed on the day of rental?
Yes. The plan can be changed after reservation and on the day of rental.

QHow long do changing and hair styling take?
Choosing a Kimono, changing and getting your hair styled will take around 1 hour.
The length of time it takes to choose a Kimono depends on your preference.
During the spring and fall tourism seasons it gets crowded around the store, so please allow a little spare time whencoming. -
QDo you have Kimono for children?
We do have Kimono suitable for children.
We have sizes from 85 cm to 135 cm for boys or girls, but please be aware that the number is limited. -
QI am pregnant, can I still rent a Kimono?
Regrettably we cannot rent Kimono to pregnant women.

QWill there be an additional charge if the kimono gets dirty or damaged?
No additional charge will be applied for minor stains or small fraying.
However, in the case of significant damage or stains that cannot be repaired, we may ask you to cover the actual repair cost. -
QHow many kimono styles do you offer?
We have over 200 kimono available.
Our selection includes komon, furisode, homongi, haori-hakama, men’s kimono, kids’ kimono, and yukata, offering a wide variety of styles to choose from. -
QDo you offer yukata rentals?
Yes. Yukata rentals are available seasonally from June to September.
We offer a wide selection, including brand-name yukata.

QWhat kinds of hair styles can I get?
Relax and let our specialist hair stylist set your hair to match your Kimono.
We have many style photographs for reference so you can get the hairstyle you want with advice from our professionals. -
QDo you have hair accessories?
Hair accessories are provided for free to customers choosing to have their hair styled.
Returns and safe-keeping

QCan you look after my belongings?
We will store your clothes, suitcases, and shopping bags free of charge (except for valuables).

QHow can I return the Kimono?
We have 2 options for returning Kimono.
- Same day return
Please return to Kyokomachi by 6:00 pm on the day of rental. - Next day return
Please return to Kyokomachi by 4:00 pm the day after rental.
Customers wishing to use this option must pay an extra 1,100 yen (tax included) per person.
In addition to the 1,100 yen extra charge, customer’s using the next day return service must leave a 10,000 yen security deposit, which will be refunded on safe return of the Kimono.

QCan I cancel?
If you wish to cancel your reservation, you must either call or email to inform us.
Cancellation fees
- Reservations for up to 9 people
Cancellations on the day before rental or earlier are free of charge.
Cancellations on the day of rental are charged at 100% of the rental fee. - Reservations for 10 or more people
Cancellations 5 or more days before the rental day are free of charge.
Cancellations made between 1 and 4 days before the day of rental are charged at 30% of the rental fee.
Cancellations on the day of rental are charged at 100% of the rental fee.

QCan I make a reservation at any time, 24 hours a day?
Yes. Reservations can be made 24/7 through our official website.
Online reservations made by the day before are eligible for a discount and help reduce waiting time, so we highly recommend booking in advance. -
QCan I visit without a reservation on the same day?
Yes, same-day walk-ins are welcome. However, depending on availability, you may need to wait.
We recommend making a reservation in advance for a smoother experience.
Online reservations also come with a discount, so booking ahead is more economical. -
QCan groups or large parties use your service?
Yes, we welcome both small groups and large parties.
Cancellation policies vary depending on the number of guests, so for group reservations of 10 people or more, please contact us in advance.
We also offer special group discount plans. For details, feel free to contact us by phone or email.

Kyoto Kimono Rental Kyokomachi is conveniently located just a 10-second walk from the Kiyomizumichi bus stop.
It is about an 8-minute walk to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, approximately 3 minutes to Yasaka Pagoda,
and within walking distance of Gion and Yasaka Shrine. -
QWhat are your business hours?
Our business hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The last check-in is at 5:00 PM, and all kimono rentals must be returned by 6:00 PM on the same day. -
QWhat payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, JCB, AMEX, Diners Club, UnionPay), QR code payments (Alipay, WeChat Pay, PayPay, Rakuten Pay), and transportation IC cards (Suica, PASMO, ICOCA, etc.).

QIs the location convenient for sightseeing?
A Kyoto Kimono Rental Kyokomachi is located just a 10-second walk from the Kiyomizumichi bus stop and is about an 8-minute walk to Kiyomizu-dera Temple.
It is also about a 3-minute walk to Yasaka Pagoda, and within walking distance to Yasaka Shrine and the Gion area—an excellent location for sightseeing.
Access to Fushimi Inari Taisha is also convenient: from the Kiyomizumichi bus stop, go to Shichijo Keihan-mae, then take the Keihan Line directly to Fushimi-Inari Station without transfers. -

Yes. We have English- and Chinese-speaking staff on site, so international guests can use our services with confidence.

Yes. We sell both new and pre-owned kimonos, obi belts, and accessories.
You can purchase high-quality silk kimonos in excellent condition, including furisode, homongi, and komon.
